Four Scenes Pty Ltd is the skills, knowledge and experience of Dr Michael Blyth.

Mike has B Sc Agr (Hons) and a Ph D in agricultural economics from the University of Sydney, graduating in 1977 and 1982, respectively. He has also taken courses in business enterprise planning and scenario planning.

Mike’s skills include:

  • Strategic planning, priority setting, scenario planning, SWOT analysis, balanced scorecard, capability assessment, competitor analysis, organisational learning, organisational design, change management.

  • Extensive expertise in workshop facilitation and training and development programs in Australia and overseas, especially in South-east Asia and Papua New Guinea.

  • Research evaluation, economic policy analysis, market analysis and resource economics.

  • Scientific research and development, agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, bushfire, social welfare, knowledge and information management.

Mike’s knowledge and experience are built on a career of more than 23 years working in Australian Government agencies including 13 years in CSIRO and nine years in ABARE. Mike has also worked for a number of other Australian and international organisations and agencies, including 13 months in Indonesia working with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in 1998-99 and six months with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet as a member of the secretariat for the COAG Bushfire Inquiry in 2003-04.
